redesigning an alarm clock
Abstract
Aesthetics of Interaction was a course I did to help me pay more attention to the details when it came to finishing a product. I learnt this through application with a project focused on creating a wake-up experience. This was mostly individual, and I started out by redesigning an alarm clock I considered badly designed.
My team and I were also tasked with explaining a paper on affordances, a topic we then explored with the creation of the VerseJumper. After presenting a preliminary wake-up experience design and going through multiple iterations to create the final VerseJumper, we wrote individual pictorial papers on what we had learnt from the course, with theory and argumentation on exactly where the course content helped us develop as designers.
