greenity
Abstract
Greenity originated from a project requiring the creation of a physical-digital hybrid educational game. My team and I chose our age group to be kids 4 and above, and the game was a board game.
This game aimed to teach kids what it takes to build a city, building a community in the process. We would have to simplify concepts such as factories and government offices/facilities so that a child would know that they were essential. For a digital element, the cities would be replicated online, so that people could collaborate all over the world to build cities. As they leveled up, they would receive access to more resources and eventually more advanced maps containing businesses or amusement parks.
The game is a board with a grid and colour coded tiles. These tiles would be placed on the board to create a city. The placement of the tiles requires explanation, stimulating conversation between players as to whether there was a better place for that resource.
